OFINSO

AHWREASE

Ofinso Amanging lies in the Ashanti Region of Ghana which is about 31 km away from the city Kumasi. It’s a farming community with its inhabitant engaging in peasant farming. The total population of Ofinso Amanging together with its adjourning villages is about 15000 which

includes women and children. The health center serves all these residents considering its under resource condition.


The most predominate health issues treated at the facility center are as follows:

  • Malaria
  • Chest infection
  • Typhoid
  •  Abrasions and wounds


The facility can attend to 40 to 45 patients in a day.


Should a patient require further medical attention, the person would have to be transported on either a

motor bike or tricycles to the nearest hospital (St. Patrick Hospital) or the regional hospital (Okumfour

Anokye Teaching Hospital) which is about 31 km away from the health center.


The center lacks a lot of medical supplies, and its infrastructure also needs renovation to improve on its reason for existence in the communities. Three years ago, You at Heart Foundation visited the community for a health screening project and restored power to the health center to aid the store vaccines. Their facility is bat infested which has left a bad stench and unbearable noise in the facility.

Awherase-Darmang Eastern region of Ghana which is about 59.8 km away from the capital Koforidua. It’s a farming community with its inhabitant engaging in peasant farming.


The total population of Awherase-Darmang together with its adjourning villages is about 17,290 which includes women and children. The health center serves all these residents considering its under resource condition.


The most predominate health issues treated at the facility center are as follows:

  • Malaria
  • Chest infection
  • Typhoid
  • Tonsillitis
  • Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection
  •  Abrasions and wounds


The facility can attend to 50 to 55 patients in a day.


Should a patient require further medical attention, the person would have to be transported on either a motor bike or tricycles to the nearest hospital (Nsawam Government hospital) or to the regional hospital (Koforidua hospital) which is about 59.8 km away from the health center.


The center lacks a lot of medical supplies, and its infrastructure also needs renovation to improve on its reason for existence in the communities.

TANGA

ISRAEL

Ghana West Africa - Tanga lies in the Upper East Region of Ghana which is about 810 km (14hrs drive) away from the capital city Accra. It’s a farming community with its inhabitant engaging in peasant farming. The total population of Tanga together with its adjourning villages is about 6898 which includes women and children. The health center serves all these residents considering its under resource condition.

  

The most predominant health issues treated at the facility center are as follows:

  • Malaria
  • Respiratory tract infection
  • Skin infection
  • Diarrhea
  • Joint pains/rheumatism 
  • Typhoid 

The facility can attend to 30 to 35 patients in a day.


Should a patient require further medical attention, the person would have to be transported on either a motor bike or tricycles to the district hospital which is about 18 km away from the health center.


The center lacks a lot of medical supplies, and its infrastructure also needs renovation to improve on its reason for existence in the communities.

 The facility is a government health center, situated at the Ga Central Municipality with Israel being within the Chantan Sub Municipal.

The District has about 78,018 as its total population.



Over the years, staff at the Israel Health Center have given their best in terms of services rendered to the people in the community. Unfortunately , their best has not been enough to the inadequate working equipment in the facility. Through our evaluation and assessment, we found out that to adequately provide health support for the people, the facility must be equipped with enough working tools.

OPD ATTENDANCE

On average, the facility sees between 15-20 clients in a day.


MORTALITY

The facility has not recorded either infant or maternal mortality in the last few years.
